The Girl at La Concha Beach was accepted for the December Art League Show. The exhibit runs between December 9, 2015–January 4, 2016 with  Clint Mansell, Director of Principle Gallery, serving as jurer.

I painted this after a trip to the beautiful San Sebastian beach this summer. It is the most beautiful beach I have ever visited. The beach is “shell –shaped” and is situated where the mountains meet the ocean. Like Rio, a statue of Jesus Christ overlooks the bay, and that is depicted in the upper right of the painting.

I have been working my way copying the various masters in art history. I am up to about 1900, and presently am studying Sorolla, the great Spanish painter. Though he is virtually unknown in America, painters know him and study his work. Since I had no Sorolla to copy, I did the next best thing. I went to Spain, and painted what he loved to paint –beach scenes in Spain.
